Paying for your Policy

Here you’ll find a guide on paying for your insurance policy, including some answers to frequent questions.

First2Protect is a credit broker and not a lender.

What payment methods are available?

You can pay for your policy in full via credit or debit card or pay monthly on direct debit.

Paying Monthly - Who are Premium Credit?

If you wish to pay by monthly instalments, this will be managed via our partner, Premium Credit.

Premium Credit is the No.1 Insurance Premium Finance Company in the UK and Ireland. You can find out more about them on their website https://www.premiumcredit.com/

You will be required to sign a credit agreement, which can be done either online or by post. When you take a new policy with us, Premium Credit will send you a welcome email which confirms how to complete this via either method. It is important this is signed, as failure to do so may result in a charge being applied to your next instalment. You can sign your credit agreement here. Please ensure you have your D reference from the Premium Credit welcome pack, as this will need to be entered.

Once signed, you are also able to sign up to ‘My Premium Credit’ (www.mypremiumcredit.com) which gives you the ability to make changes to your personal information such as your bank details and contact information. It provides instant 24/7 secure access to useful information over the lifetime of your account with Premium Credit, including your Direct Debit amounts and any correspondence. You will also be able to digitally sign your credit agreement, keep tabs on how much you’ve paid, settle any missed payments and update any changes to your personal and bank details.

What happens when I miss a payment?

When you miss a payment, both First2Protect and Premium Credit will attempt to contact you to notify that a payment has been missed. Failure to respond could result in cancellation of your policy and a charge being made for the period of insurance cover provided. Should this amount exceed the payments collected, the outstanding balance will remain payable.

Please note that your credit rating may also be impacted as a result, which could make it more difficult for you to gain credit in future.

If you are experiencing financial difficulties or have any other personal/health situation which makes it harder to communicate, please either call us on 01392 849750 or email us at customerservice@first2protect.co.uk. Any information disclosed will be treated as confidential and could help us to provide a better service. We may also be able to make adjustments to ensure premiums remain affordable, whilst ensuring continuing cover.

Can I change the date on my direct debit?

Yes, you can do this online at www.mypremiumcredit.com, or alternatively by contacting First2Protect

What credit and debit cards do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards. Unfortunately, we do not accept American Express (AMEX).
